If we close
ourselves off from the pain, from the experiences that life sends our way, we
will be closed off not only from the pain of life, but also from much of what
is good about life, too. It's only with an accepting attitude --with our hands
outstretched -- that we can not only receive things we sometimes don't want,
but also receive all the blessings God wants to give us, too.
