Advent is a season
of preparation. During Advent, we know
that we are about to celebrate Christ's birth, which is cause for joy. But we may also feel a little nervous,
wondering if this event is more than we can handle. This seems natural; after all, we are about
to celebrate a life-changing, world-changing event. Christ's birth is no easy thing to
understand. As we anticipate an event of
such mystery and magnitude, perhaps we sense that we need some time to
prepare. Thankfully, Advent offers us
this gift of time.
