The story is told of a shoplifter
who writes to a department store and says, "I've just become a Christian,
and I can't sleep at night because I feel guilty. So here's $100 that I owe
you."
Then he signs his name, and in a
little postscript at the bottom he adds, "If I still can't sleep, I'll
send you the rest."

Dear Reverend Wilkinson,
ReplyDeleteI was president of my fraternity in college. I received a letter one week from a girl who had stolen money during a casino night at one of our functions. She confessed her “crime” in the letter and proceeded to pay back the full amount over the next six months. I wrote her back and asked, “Why?” She said that she had become a Christian and wanted to rectify some of the wrongs that she had committed. I was not a Christian at the time and I did not accept Jesus as my Savior until ten years later. But her story and her actions stuck with me and I believe that God used that as one of my stepping stones toward a relationship with Him.
This Sound Bite is interesting. I feel that I need to be “all in” with my faith. The times that there are “postscripts” in my walk are the toughest because I know that there is something standing between me an my relationship with God.
Thank you again for your Sound Bites.
Sincerely,
Casey J. O'Callaghan, CA
