During my years in ministry, I can't begin to count the number of people who have come to me in great dismay wondering how people could be so cruel to others. "It doesn't make any sense!" they'd often say.
ReplyDeleteMany of us have read about, heard, seen, or even experienced cruelty, injustice, and even oppression. And while Weil's statement doesn't make it any easier to tolerate these tragedies and hardships, it does help us to understand that it's one of the realities of our human experience. Thanks for sharing this truth with all of us, David!
