“Now faith is the assurance of things
hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)
To have faith is to have a firm
persuasion, a conviction based on hearing. It is used in the New Testament
always of faith in God or in Christ, or things spiritual (Vine’s Expository Dictionary). Theologian John Stott defines faith
as “a reasoning trust, a trust which reckons thoughtfully and confidently upon
the trustworthiness of God.”

Treasure: Ephesians"
