THROUGH THE VALLEY

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me… (Psalm 23:4a NIV)

When illness, bereavement, and the losses…cast a shadow over our lives, God is there… Shadows are cast only because the sun is shining somewhere, to take us by the hand and lead us through the valley of the shadow and into the sunlight.

  1. This message is full of encouragement and hope. In these times of turmoil and not knowing what will happen next with the government making many changes (good or bad??) I wonder. And, all sorts of new viruses coming upon us and food that is full of bacteria and disease, we may feel that we are overwhelmed with darkness and despair. BUT: keep your heads up and your eyes searching the eastern skies for at any time, Jesus Christ may be coming thru those clouds on His white stallion. Seek the Kingdom of God and He will take care of all the rest. 2 Corinthians 3:17 states: Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty. Romans 8:9 states: The creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. So you see, no matter what happens, we, God's children thru Jesus Christ, we have the victory, We can't lose. Amen.

    Thanks, Dave! I never thought of it that way, but today's reflection seems to be a wonderful companion to the following--which I've used often.

    The following was found on a cellar wall during World War II. It was written by a Jew who was in hiding as a way of expressing his faith even in the darkest of times.

    I believe in the sun even when it is not shining.

    I believe in love even when not feeling it;

    I believe in God even when He is silent.
